St Helens... your new mountain biking base in Tasmania.
Announced in May 2017, the Tasmanian Government will be investing $1 million into the $4.5 million St Helens Mountain Bike Trail Network, which create a 66 kilometre stacked loop network just south of St Helens, with a trail link to the town centre.
Nearby, the established and popular Blue Derby Trails encompass some of the most stunning landscapes in Tasmania. The main trail head, located in Derby, provides easy access to cafés, parking, public toilets and showers.
At BIG4 St Helens, we welcome mountain biking guest with our new accommodation complex opened in 2018 and including:
- Facilities at BIG4 St Helens Holiday Park to wash all your riding equipment.
- Backpacker style Bunkhouse accommodation perfect for groups of mountain bikers, with their own common area adjacent to their accommodation.
- Planned mountain bike hire (scheduled to start late 2019/early 2020) from BIG4 St Helens Holiday Park for those who don’t have bikes with them.
- Planned shuttle transport (scheduled to start late 2019/early 2020) from BIG4 St Helens Holiday Park to Derby and return for our guests who wish to use the world renowned mountain bike trails.
