St Helens stands as the largest town along this picturesque stretch of the coast, offering a prime location for diverse outdoor adventures. With attractions like the Bay of Fires, St Helens Point Conservation Area, and the scenic Binalong Bay easily accessible, it's a haven for nature enthusiasts.

Renowned as the island's game-fishing hub and for its deep-sea fishing opportunities and abundant southern rock lobster, affectionately referred to as crayfish or crays by the locals. So there's no shortage of excellent seafood to try at local restaurants.  

Pyengana Dairy Company is located in the heart of the Pyengana Valley, the Holy Cow Café is just 30 minutes drive from St Helens and overlooks the lush fields of the Pyengana Dairy Company farm.

The Café is open 7 days a week for breakfast, lunch, snacks and desserts. You can also enjoy tea and coffee, farm–fresh milkshakes and Tassie beers, wines and ciders.

It's a great family–friendly location, with a selection of kids meals and even a special sheltered area to park your dog while you enjoy yourself inside.

Opening hours are 9am–5pm (10am–4pm during winter), 7 days a week. 

You can also pick up some delicious Pyengana Dairy Company products, like milk, ice-cream and their award-winning cheese.

St Columba Falls near Pyengana - follow the high quality track, through cool and shady rainforest to discover a stunning tree fern forest and one of Tasmania's highest waterfalls. This great trail is suitable for most people with no bush walking experience required. A moderate level of fitness is needed with a 600 metre walk each way (approx 20-30 minutes return) and an uphill walk to return to the carpark. 

A short 30 minute drive on the A3 from St Helens, then take the C428 "St Columba Falls Rd".

The Pub In The Paddock - Licensed since 1880, The Pub in the Paddock is one of Tasmania’s oldest pubs. The pub walls are covered with rich local history and you can meet friendly locals who like to share a story or two! The owners will make you feel welcome as soon as you walk through the door with a great lunch and dinner menu, seven days a week, along with morning and afternoon tea.

Priscilla the Beer Drinking Pig draws a huge crowd every weekend, where you can purchase a watered-down beer and watch her guzzle it down!

Fishing - Head offshore on a game-fishing charter to cruise for marlin, albacore tuna and yellowfin tuna, or hire a boat and fish in the bay. Or simply drop a line off a jetty. From a boat, you can also catch calamari and Australian salmon. There are five boat ramps in the area with three in Georges Bay (town foreshore, O'Connors Beach, Stieglitz) and two boat ramps with direct ocean access at Burns Bay and Binalong Bay.
